another exciting trip

To experience the warm-ish weather all of DC is talking about, I make a trip to the grocery store. What is specifically on my list is produce to make some chicken soup. For some reason, maybe because my freezer is full of chicken, I want to get some ground beef to have on hand. But only if it’s on sale, of course.
Being on foot means I can only carry basically what fits into one of those baskets that grocery stores have. I can usually pack it pretty full, with a little overflow, and that’s enough to carry home.
Looking over my receipt now I see there were only two items in my purchase that weren’t on sale: carrots and red onions. Upon closer inspection, I find that I was charged for one red onion (0.74 lb) for $0.95 and seemingly two additional red onions (1.57 lb) for $2.03. I only bought one red onion. I guess something else must have been on the scale or a cash register button was hit twice. Or thrice.
